WRDC Loan Fund

Since 1983 WRDC has operated a loan fund for businesses within the Wigtownshire area.  Low interest loans are available to businesses both starting or expanding.  Loans of up to and including £5,000 are generally considered.  Please contact us for an application form (see bottom of page for details).

South of Scotland Loan Scheme

WRDC are Fund Administrators for SEBSED Ltd, a Company set up to manage the South of Scotland Loan Scheme (SoSLS).  The SoSLS is available to businesses located in or looking to locate in the Scottish Borders or Dumfries & Galloway.  The scheme is designed to support projects where there is a definite need for public sector support and where there are clear economic benefits arising if the project goes ahead.  Loans of between £5,000 and £50,000 are available under the Scheme.

Small Business Loan Fund (Foot & Mouth Disease) Administration

WRDC administered the SBLF (FMD) for the whole of Dumfries & Galloway on behalf of Scottish Enterprise. Interest free loans were given to businesses affected by Foot and Mouth Disease in Dumfries & Galloway during 2001 of up to £5,000 with an initial 9 month holiday period and thereafter 33 monthly loan repayments. We now carry out credit control and after care services to recover the loans being repaid.

Business Development Loan Scheme Administration

WRDC administered the Business Development Loan Scheme for the whole of Dumfries & Galloway on behalf of Scottish Enterprise. Loans of up to £20,000 were available, the first £10,000 being interest free. We now carry out credit control and after care services to recover the loans being repaid.

Business Centre

WRDC operates the WRDC Business Centre in Newton Stewart.  Various sizes of offices are available to rent on a monthly basis.  This service includes provision of reception, telephone messaging and voice mail, mail handling, cleaning and photocopying.  Find out more about the WRDC Business Centre and the services we can provide here.

WRDC also provides office accommodation to a number of companies in the Stranraer area.

Meeting Facilities

A meeting room is available for hire at the WRDC Business Centre for meetings and training sessions.  Rooms may also be available on request for interviewing etc.

Training Provision/Assessment

Members of WRDC staff are qualified to provide training and assessment of National Vocational Qualifications.

Administration Services

Administration services are carried out as required for companies located within the WRDC Business Centre.  This service is also available to companies throughout Dumfries and Galloway.

Consultants Register

WRDC holds a register of experienced consultants within Dumfries and Galloway which we can co-ordinate and therefore tender for contracts which normally would have gone outwith the region.
